Signal To Annihilate Any Rapper In The World On His Debut LP—PhD Album

0

Signal; (born Solomon Tettey; December 29, 1992) is a Ghanaian international rap artist, songwriter, entrepreneur, and label executive. He signed to his own record label Regal Dynasty LLC in 2020.

His debut music project, Accolade Mixtape was released right after his international rap challenge in 2013; featuring his childhood mentor Albert “Ball J” Hanson, Kesse, and fellow spawning acts from Ghana.

Signal served as deputy entertainment chairperson of his college—Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST); where he studied Biochemistry and Biotechnology and later Nutrition and Dietetics as a Postgraduate.
Signal is one rare artist, as he seamlessly combines medical science research and music. He is a certified Dietitian by KNUST and Researchgate.
Among the numerous achievements by Signal is his representation of Ghana at the 2013 Nokia Rap Competition and his New York Tour with Funkflex in August 2019.

PhD LP is Signal’s 4th music project; preceded by Accolade Mixtape, Money God & Music (MGM) EP, and Roc Salt Mixtape. He made it clear that these projects were to bolster his understanding of the music business, in an environment with no record labels and investors.
PhD LP-themed No Pen, No Pad, Just Pain serves as a discovery of all the rigmarole of the music game and how he has used every adversity to forge to the top of the Africa rap music game. The theme of the album subtly underscores Signal’s ability to freestyle on records without scribbling down lyrics. A rare skill set he uses to record almost all hit songs like Awula, Bukola, among other Afro music compositions.

The PhD Album features Platinum-selling producers, talented artists across the globe. The album is said to be released within the last quarter of 2021.

Signal grew up in North Kaneshie, Ghana, where he started elementary school around 1998. He later lived in Koforidua with his mother. Despite all the foibles, he stood out as an exceptional science student in his high school, Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS) where he graduated with a distinction in 2011.
ARTISTRY
Signal admits that he draws inspiration from Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Cassidy, Nasir Jones, Fabolous, M.anifest (Ghana), Kidi (Ghana), Russ, Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), and Rick Ross.
